Batik stamp 230 x 100mm approx
Batik cap is a batik method where a handmade copper stamp is used to apply the hot wax to the fabric instead of being hand-drawn onto it. Cap makers are generally highly skilled males and the art is taught to them as young boys.
Their stamps are true works of art with each tiny piece of copper cut to size and attached to the stamp by hand. They can make many intricate and more simple traditional motif designs and the copper stamps are similar to wooden block-printing also traditionally used for textile design throughout Asia.
Each piece has been selected by me to bring a little authentic Indonesian art into your home. They can be laid down leaning against their hand hold for best visual effect.
